Optimal Wood Care

Sunlighten saunas are constructed from natural timber. Variations in wood grain, colour, tone, texture and natural markings are inherent characteristics of timber and are not considered defects.

During normal use, timber may expand, contract or develop minor surface cracks due to changes in temperature and humidity. These natural changes do not affect the structural integrity, safety or performance of the sauna and are not covered under warranty.

Minor dents, scratches or scuffs may generally be left untreated or lightly sanded where appropriate. Avoid treatments containing benzene or high concentrations of alcohol.

Outdoor Use

Sunlighten saunas are designed primarily for indoor use. Where installed outdoors, the sauna must be protected from weather exposure at all times, including rain, direct sunlight and moisture.

A Sunlighten outdoor cover must be used for all outdoor installations. The supplied plastic thermal Aqualon liner must be installed in accordance with instructions, and a plastic sheet must be placed directly over the sauna roof before installing the cover. The cover should be elevated to allow water runoff and prevent pooling.

The roof fabric is resistant to water penetration; however, the overall cover is not fully waterproof due to its sewn construction. A suitable roof or sheltered installation area is recommended to minimise direct exposure to the elements.

The owner is responsible for adequately protecting the sauna from water damage, excessive humidity, termites and pests. Failure to install and maintain appropriate protection may result in damage not covered under warranty.

Warranty Disclaimers

* Cabin structure and infrared heater panels include the cabin structure, benches, floor grates, heater cover frames and infrared heater panels.

** Controls include the in-sauna tablet, sauna control pad and power box.

*** Tablet/display hardware covers defects in the tablet/display hardware only.

Sunlighten warrants its products against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential or commercial use, subject to the applicable warranty periods, conditions and exclusions.

The manufacturer’s warranty commences from the original date of installation, applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferable.

Warranty coverage does not apply to damage or faults resulting from misuse, abuse, improper installation, unauthorised modification or repair, relocation, environmental conditions, water or moisture exposure, normal wear and tear, or operation outside recommended conditions.

Replacement parts supplied under warranty do not extend or restart the original warranty period. New replacement parts carry a 12-month warranty and refurbished replacement parts carry a 30-day warranty.

For warranty claims, the customer is responsible for freight, delivery and transport costs associated with returning goods or components. Where a warranty claim is confirmed as valid, Sunlighten will cover the freight cost of sending the replacement part or repaired component to the customer.
